Join us as we have a special OLLI at Emory virtual docent tour of Jane Austen's home in Chawton, Alton United Kingdom.

Jane Austen is one of the most famous writers in English literature. Her books are read by people all over the world and have been made into countless TV, film, theatre and radio adaptations.

This is more impressive because she only wrote six full-length novels. In order of publication, these were: Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey and Persuasion.

Join us if you're a Jane Austen fan, or even if you’re not! Learn some history with us, it is not only fascinating, see and feel just how easily she felt so inspired. A stunning village and remarkable museum. Let’s travel through time and see if we can feel as though Mr. Darcy, might just walk through the door at any time!

There are two options when registering:  Register for the online Zoom option from your home or register for the classroom experience. (in-person starts at 9:30 am, online Tour starts at 9:45am)

Classroom Experience:  We will enjoy a breakfast that Jane Austen often ate.  Taste her favorite teas, rolls, preserves and muffins.  Each section has limited seats, due to museum restrictions.  Sign-up early to secure your seat.
