2907 - Changing How We Vote in Georgia (Shai Robkin)
Course Description
Instructor: Shai Robkin
How is it that throughout America, candidates at all levels of government get elected without majority support of voters? And what can be done about what appears to be the total disintegration of civil political discourse wherein you can’t even talk to someone from the other side, much less engage in polite debate about the issues of the day. There are those who believe that American hyper-partisanship and political tribalism are beyond repair. If we continue to elect our representatives the same way we do it now, they very well may be right. But changing how we vote has the potential to change how our leaders lead, how they talk to us and how we talk to each other. The solution: instant runoff/ranked choice voting (RCV), preferably used in combination with what’s called Final Five Voting. Learn how they work and how you can be a part of making it a reality in Georgia.
