Join OLLI Members for a docent led tour at the Atlanta CDC Museum, Thursday, February 27th at 1:45PM.
CDC Museum’s Health Equity Tour: Health equity issues will be introduced through historical context, and CDC’s current efforts to reduce disparities will be discussed.
This exhibition, entitled “Health is a Human Right: Achieving Health Equity” examines the ways communities across the U.S. are advancing health equity in the 21st century. Focused on “good news wins,” the exhibition acknowledges that the only way everyone will have a fair opportunity to achieve their best health is to address the harms of the past while also looking ahead to what is possible. Please arrive early, parking is free in the visitor parking deck after the security gate. Cars do get thoroughly searched by security before entering which can take a bit of time, allow yourself more than ample time, considering there will be others entering at the same time.
No weapons of any kind are allowed in your vehicle.
A list of attendees is turned in 9 days before our visit to help with security and help the museum docent prepare. There are NO late registrations allowed.
All attendees must show their state ID prior to entering.
Free. Limited to 30, Sign up early.
Food and beverages are not allowed in the galleries.
Photography is allowed only inside the museum. Pictures may not be taken outside the museum.
Follow all instructions given by CDC Security and CDC Museum staff.
Use quiet voices. Please be mindful of other museum visitors, including those in your group.
Refrain from talking or texting on cell phones during guided tours.
Make sure your cell phone is in “silent” mode.
Do not touch objects on display unless invited to do so.
Do not lean or stand on exhibit cases, platforms, or other exhibit structures.
