Course Description
Join Jeff Milsteen for a stroll through the past, present and future of the largest museum complex in the world. Most of us have fond memories of spending a family vacation being dragged down the mall on a hot summer day in Washington D.C. Whether you were the one doing the dragging or the one being dragged, or even if you’ve never visited any of the Smithsonian’s museums, you will enjoy this stroll through the fascinating history of the institution, learning how it was founded, how it is governed and the scope of its collections. We’ll also explore some of the more interesting, and even bizarre, artifacts currently held in the Smithsonian’s vast collection.
