One Day Presentation - December 7th - 1PM

Atlanta's famous Oakland Cemetery, founded in 1850, had no more lots available by 1880. In response, entrepreneurs developed two new cemeteries in the following decade, Westview for whites and South-View for African Americans. Both are interesting in terms of their history, landscape and monuments, and especially the "permanent residents" who are buried there. These include various members of the Candler and Woodruff families, Coca-Cola magnates (at Westview), and of the King family, the Bonds and Dobbses (at South-View). This 1.5-hour presentation addresses the sites and contents of these two historic burial places.
