7 December 1941 - A Day of Infamy

On December 7th of this year the United States will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Japanese sneak attack on the US Navy fleet at Pearl Harbor and the Island of Oahu, Hawaii. This infamous act would usher our country into the Second World War and, to quote Admiral Yamamoto, the architect of the attack, the Japanese "awoke the sleeping giant." This course will examine the Japanese plan, the attack itself and the outcome.
