Course Description

Instructor: Jim Mengert

Starts: Wednesday,  September 8,  4 weeks

Time: 11:30AM-12:30PM

Beginnings and endings are important in many areas of life--birth and death (of course!), the start and end of a relationship, the first day and the last day of school. Literature, because it is a temporal art that moves us in time across and down the page, also has a beginning and an ending--which are often the most memorable parts of the work. In this course we'll look at a collection of short poems whose last lines or even last couple of words significantly affect or even reframe our experience of the entire poem.
