Course Description

Pre-eminent, greatest, leading, outstanding-- choose your adjective to describe THE MET. With over 2 million works of art spanning 5,000 years, the Metropolitan Museum of Art presents the best of human creativity from around the globe. By using OLLI's large video screens we will be able to appreciate stunning works of art. The class will be divided into 3 parts. In part 1, we will learn how the building grew to its present size, meet patrons whose donations made it possible, and most importantly, view individual works with commentary by experts. Part 2 will provide time for class participants to comment on their experiences at The MET. In part 3, we will watch an entertaining 50 minute documentary produced by specialists at the museum.

Please Note: This class will be offered in Hybrid Format, you have an option at check out to choose either an in-person classroom seat or online learning. In Classroom seats are first come first serve, no exceptions.
