Course Description

Presenter: John Kessler

John Kessler has spent 30 working as a restaurant critic, mostly at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. For many years, newspaper and magazine reviewers offered the only widely read and discussed opinions on dining, and their impact could change a restaurant's fortune. But with the advent of online sites, bloggers and especially review aggregators such as Yelp, the field grew more crowded. Kessler will discuss how the change in the media landscape has changed the way diners look for, discuss and ultimately enjoy dining out. He'll also discuss the mechanics of reviewing and the ways in which the pandemic has forced a change.
