Instructor Presenter: Gary HaukEmory’s Michael C. Carlos Museum celebrated its centennial in 2019, but this cultural jewel has a history that’s much older. And fascinating! We know it for its mummies, Greek busts, and ancient art of the Americas. But what about those stuffed birds and the oldest Maytag washing machine in Georgia? This illustrated presentation will describe how these and other treasures came to Emory, and the marvelous cast of characters who made the museum what it is today.
