Course Description

Instructor: Ross Friedman

In a shift from studying Shakespeare’s tragedies and Conrad’s stories, Ross is planning to lighten up for summer. The two-major works the class will read are Thornton Wilder’s play Our Town (we will read it in class) and the Ray Bradbury novel of childhood Dandelion Wine, both delightful works set in the simpler times of the early 20th century. He will sprinkle in some stories, poems, and songs to add to the grooviness. Students can purchase copies of these works on the first day of class or use their own.
