Course Description
Instructor: Howard Cohen
Major cities around the world boast renowned centers of art-New York Metropolitan Museum and MOMA, Paris’ Louvre, Madrid’s Prado...but smaller museums often provide a more concise overview of a period or artist. Using colorful videos, we will encounter fabulous small cultural gems like The Frick Collection in NYC, the Tretykov Gallery in Moscow and the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. Gardens, architecture and archaeological sites in Africa and Asia will be explored. Music appropriate to the locale will enhance each presentation.
