Flannery O’Connor, one of America’s most talented and original short story writers, has received more critical acclaim than any other Georgia author. We will examine her fascinating life and discuss her most compelling short stories. In their portrayals of life in rural Georgia, these stories contain a unique mixture of humor and disturbing plot developments to convey to the reader serious moral and religious lessons. Joe is is a former administrative law judge who has taught history and literature classes at OLLI for many years, most recently a class on the history of NYC.
