Course Description
Instructor: Sal Depasquale, MS, MBA
Human transition from Hunter/gatherer to agriculturalist led to concepts of wealth and power, which in turn led to hunger, war and slavery. Slavery has many meanings based on time and place. This class views slavery as a virus mutating over time from salvation for the vanquished in war to the depths of human depravity in the cotton plantation south. This tale does not present an uplifting story of America and highlights the role of faith played in sanctioning this inhuman institution. It also discusses how the U.S. inspired Nazi Germany and the Nuremberg Laws.
