Course Description

Two of the most iconic Gilbert and Sullivan operettas will be featured this month. We will start with their first big hit, “HMS Pinafore� and proceed to their second most popular show of all time: “The Pirates of Penzance.� We will examine each play over two weeks, one week devoted to Act I and the other to Act II. We will explore the plot, characters, development, production, and of course, music and songs from each operetta. Here’s a great chance for you to sing along in the privacy of your home, or unmute yourself and create a chorus on Zoom!
