Course Description
Instructor: George Inglis, BS Genetics and Developmental Biology
This course aims to provide a basic understanding of human genetics, and the factors contributing to prominent neurological and neurodegenerative diseases such as epilepsy, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s. Each class will discuss focus on the disease epidemiology, common genetic causes, and any applicable studies or literature on clinical therapies. George is a third-year PhD candidate in Genetics and Molecular Biology at Emory University. His research focuses on identifying transcriptional regulatory elements and protein factors for genes implicated in various forms of epilepsy, in an effort to identify new targets for treatment of these disorders.
