Course Description
Instructor: Susan Kessler Barnard, BAThree imperial dynasties dominated Europe in the later part of the 19th and early 20th centuries: the Romanovs of Russia, the Hapsburgs of Austria-Hungary and the Hohenzollerns of Germany. This class will take a look at the families, their sexual intrigues and the murders of these glamourous people. Through the political intrigues, we will see what led to the “War to End All Wars�/World War I and the fall of the three dynasties whose crests were adorned with eagles. The class will watch parts of the BBC’s historical drama, Fall of Eagles that was shown on TV in 1974.
