Course Description

Instructor: Adam Seever

The ecosystem of resources available to older adults as they age is remarkably robust -- yet so few seniors know where to go or what to do to help them age safely and in the environment in which they choose to live. Only when they need services do they search out what’s available. There are two kinds of planning…advance and crisis. This course offers adult children and seniors the resources to be prepared for what’s ahead and be safe, happy and confident they will have choices as they age. Aging in place choices, financial choices, legal choices and a host of other important aspects of the aging process will be discussed.

After a 27-year career in sports marketing at the Coca-Cola Company and International Management Group, Adam decided to make a career change and start Caring Companions of Atlanta. The transition was sparked by a hospice experience with his mom where he saw the good, the bad and the ugly of caregiving. Good caregivers had a profound impact on the families they helped; conversely, the bad ones were toxic. Adam decided to make it his calling to find great caregivers and have a true impact in people’s lives. The process has given Adam deep insight into coaching older adults as they age.
