Come explore these 9 nations sharing the Balkan Peninsula: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro; Albania, Greece; Serbia, Macedonia; Romania, Bulgaria. We will begin on the coastline of the Adriatic Sea in Croatia’s red-roofed city of Dubrovnik, and then transverse this large peninsula of Eastern Europe to end in Bulgaria’s seaport of Varna on the Black Sea. In this geography–based slide show course, you will “tour� these countries by viewing maps and photographs. Along the way, you will learn the basics of the Balkans, such as: Where are the Balkan Mountains after which this peninsula is named? Where does the Danube River flow? Where is Transylvania? Belgrade? Kosovo? Which of these countries were formerly part of Yugoslavia?
