Course Description

Now that we are spending more time at home - I would like to use my home as the framework for a four­week short course. In the past, many OLLI students have stated an interest to see my home and here is an opportunity. A home often mirrors its occupant and in this case, me as an educator and traveler. The class will begin with the style of my home - a bungalow that is unique in American residential architecture. Class will continue with an overview of architects and designers whose homes served as a three-dimensional example of their individual design philosophy. Following will be a presentation on chairs-many of which I have brought into class. The final class will be a show and tell on items collected during my travels. The conclusion is how homes can reflect our lives and experiences and in this case, mine.
