3860 - Voice Acting for Anyone (Sally Neal)
Course Description
Instructor: Sally Neal
Discover the possibilities of your own voice in this fun, interactive voice acting course! We begin with an individual analysis of your natural speaking voice and how you use it with different audiences. As a group, we'll explore individual strengths and areas for growth. Participants will perform provided scripts, discuss what worked and what could be improved, and then try again with guided direction.
We'll explore different communication goals, including sales, information sharing, documentary narration, announcing, and corporate voiceovers. Through experimenting with different styles, pacing, and delivery, participants will learn how to adapt their voices to achieve the intended message. And we'll have fun along the way!
Bio: Sally Neal has spent decades working as a talent agent and voiceover instructor. Her teaching approach combines basic and advanced techniques, creating a supportive environment where everyone can learn and grow, regardless of experience. Sally emphasizes that voice acting, much like on-camera acting, involves becoming the character you are portraying. Changes in expression, pacing, and tone can transform a performance, just as a costume or prop can change a character on screen. Through her practical, collaborative approach, Sally helps participants discover the versatility of their voices and develop their performance skills.
