3757 - What Did You Do in the War, Daddy? (Col (Ret) Lawrence H. Saul)
Course Description
Instructor: Larry Saul
The vast, overwhelming majority of Baby Boomers never knew what their fathers did in WWII. The simple reason is because the men of the Greatest Generation simply did not talk about their experiences, especially those who fought in combat. While the topic is limited primarily to the role that men played in the war, we will also look at the contributions of women. Our mothers often worked dangerous, yet vital jobs. This class is designed to help you find answers about your parents’ WWII experience.
Bio: Col (Ret) Lawrence H. Saul served for a total of 37 years in the U.S. Army, with more than 20 of those years overseas. His service included tours in Germany, Holland, Belgium, England, Kosovo, and many other locations. He was one of the last veterans of the Vietnam War still serving on active duty when he retired in 2008. He holds a BA in U.S. History from Georgia State University and two Master’s degrees.
