Course Description

Instructor: Stephenie Slahor

 

Most of geology is concerned with oil deposits, tectonic plates, gems, and earthquakes, but there are many fascinating, unique and even mysterious aspects to geology which will be the focus of this course. We'll range through topics including speleothems, meteorites, minerals that fluoresce, coproliths, and much more as we savor the "oddities" in geology.

 

Bio: Dr. Stephenie Slahor is retired from university and law school teaching and now creates informative and enjoyable OLLI courses for universities around the nation, primarily in the natural sciences and history.
