3641 - Agentic AI in the Enterprise: Microsoft Copilot Studio and Beyond
Course Description
‘Agentic AI in the Enterprise: Microsoft Copilot Studio and Beyond’ is an immersive 5-week, 20-hour professional training program designed to equip learners with practical skills in building, deploying, and operating intelligent AI assistants (agents) using Microsoft Copilot Studio and the Microsoft 365 Copilot ecosystem.
With the rapid rise of AI agents and large language models (LLMs), enterprises are seeking professionals who understand both the technical foundations and strategic implications of deploying AI-powered assistants. This course bridges theory and practice by combining guided lectures, real-world demos, and hands-on labs that walk students through agent design, prompt engineering, API integration, responsible AI practices, and deployment workflows.
Learners will graduate with the confidence to design effective agents for business scenarios from automating workflows and summarizing communications to integrating enterprise systems, while embedding responsible AI and governance practices across all solutions.
Why This Program Is Important
AI assistants and agents are transforming the way enterprises operate, enabling automation, productivity enhancements, and decision support at scale. However, successfully building and deploying these agents requires more than familiarity with a tool: it demands an understanding of prompt engineering, context and memory management, integration frameworks, and responsible AI governance. This program empowers professionals to move beyond surface-level AI use and to design reliable, contextual, and secure AI agents that deliver measurable business value.
By the end of this program, students will be positioned to lead AI adoption initiatives within their teams and organizations, filling a critical skills gap as businesses rapidly embrace generative AI in workflows and enterprise applications.
*NOTE: To successfully participate in this course, students must have access to MS Copilot Studio. A license will not be provided.
Course Outline
Program Modules
Week 1: Foundations of Copilot and Agentic Thinking
Explore the Copilot Studio environment, M365 Copilot ecosystem, and core concepts such as triggers, roles, actions, conversational design, and agent anatomy.
Week 2: Prompt Engineering Deep Dive
Master the principles of prompting LLMs, including zero-shot and few-shot techniques, context handling, memory patterns, prompt templates, chaining logic, and adaptive prompt design.
Week 3: Integrations and Multi-Step Flows
Learn how to integrate agents with Microsoft 365 applications as well as external APIs, build multi-stage workflows, handle data and errors, and design robust action sequences.
Week 4: Testing, Evaluation and Responsible AI
Focus on debugging, monitoring, securing, and evaluating agents; implement responsible AI practices, access control, logging, A/B testing, and performance metrics.
Week 5: Capstone Project and Presentations
Design and deliver a comprehensive agent solution for a real-world enterprise problem, including strategy, architecture, implementation, and stakeholder presentation.
Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion, learners will be able to:
1. Build functional, real-world AI agents, design, implement, test, and deploy AI agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio, integrating with M365 tools (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel) and external APIs.
2. Master prompt engineering and contextual memory, craft effective prompts and prompt chains that produce accurate, context-aware responses from LLMs; employ dynamic variables and memory constructs for multi-turn dialogs.
3. Architect multi-step flows and integrations, build complex workflows that combine native Copilot Studio actions, API data sources, and conditional orchestration, enabling advanced automation pipelines.
4. Apply responsible AI and governance principles, incorporate security, compliance, logging, monitoring, and error-handling practices into agent design and deployment.
5. Deliver production-ready AI agent solutions by completing an end-to-end capstone project demonstrating the strategic use of agents in an enterprise business case.
