"The Relatable Fisherman' will be a great discussion getting us ready for summer film season, with Jaws being the original summer blockbuster. The first part of the course will be a lecture on the historical aspects of the production of the film. We will watch the non graphic scenes from the film, during the second portion of the class and pick out the themes we see in the movie's script and its characters that are so salient in our modern times. Specifically, when it comes to dynamics like capitalism and social class. A part of the course that will be student led where no answers or view points are incorrect.
Bio: Mr. Brown is a former Founder of Gadsden-Etowah Film Group. An organization that was created to recruit film location scouts to Northeast Alabama. He was also a former lobbyist with the state of Alabama for film recruitment in 2020-2022. Mr. Brown has course credits in film from the University of Alabama and has been a lifelong enthusiast of the Jaws franchise for over 30 years having researched the film and it's sequels for over two decades.
