Ray and Charles Eames are the quintessential American Designers. The couple mirrors America’s design characteristics of vitality, ingenuity and shown in many of their noteworthy designs such as the Lounge Chair and the 1965 IBM Pavilion at NY World’s Fair. The past is identified by their diverse body of work that range from exhibition to furniture design to their own home. The presentation concludes with the present – the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity that opened in 2024 - a physical archive to their phenomenal design careers and contributions to American design.
Bio: Involved with OLLI for over 10 years, BFA and MA degrees, and taught architecture and interior design for over 40 years at Syracuse University, Auburn University and Virginia Commonwealth University.
