3530 - Gerrymandering: The Art of the Steal! (Jeff Milsteen)
Course Description
Instructor: Jeff Milsteen
Drawing new district lines is the ultimate political act and for both parties the stakes have never been higher. Gerrymandering — the art of drawing district lines to maximize political power — is largely responsible for the polarized politics we are currently experiencing. Join Jeff Milsteen for a non-partisan look at the history of gerrymandering, its impact on modern politics and the legal framework that currently permits it. We’ll also explore the reforms that could eliminate gerrymandering and perhaps restore our faith in representative democracy.
