Course Description

This class offers a brief overview of artificial intelligence (AI) and its applications in various fields. We’ll discuss the significance of AI in everyday life and touch on the concept of using AI for fun and knowledge. We will examine the following questions: what is AI; what are the different types of AI /Generative AI including who can use it, and where can it be used; what is ChatGPT and the uses of ChatGPT, what is prompting, what are the limitations and challenges of AI. The course will offer real-life use cases and examples to practice experimenting with AI in real-time.
Bio: Sayyid Tirmizi (M.A., M.B.A., Ph.D.) is a former Associate and Adjunct Professor. Sayyid has taught both in the U.S. and abroad. He specializes in South Asian Art, culture, and religion as well as Islamic art history and culture. He has taught at the University of Tulane at the School of Continuing Education, at the City College of New York at OLLI-RU and OLLI Emory School of Continuing Studies.
