3389 - A Rare Interview with Dorothy Parker (Audrey Galex)
Course Description
Storyteller and Presenter: Audrey Galex
You may think you know all about Dorothy Parker, the writer, poet, critic, screenwriter, and founding member of the informal literary group known as the Algonquin Round Table. You may be familiar with many of her witty and often acerbic remarks, but this is a rare opportunity to hear from her as she looks back on her remarkable life, as she sits for an interview, in the intimate setting of her New York apartment in a one-woman show by storyteller Audrey Galex, written by the late actor/writer, Gina Barrett.
Bio: Audrey Galex is a storyteller, children’s book author, voice-over talent, and freelance journalist. She’s on the board of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Atlanta and The Essential Theatre. Most recently, Audrey served as Community Engagement Director at AIB (Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters) Network before retiring to pursue storytelling and writing full-time. She’s passionate about the power of stories to open our hearts and minds, to overcome prejudices, and to connect people to new ideas and to each other. She also loves to dance salsa, play harmonica (poorly,) and miniature golf (also poorly.)
