Be Prepared: no need to write your own obituary but it IS important to leave info for whoever will have that challenge — and honor. 
 


If you know from experience how paralyzing it is to write an obituary, this course might help in the future. It might also motivate you to leave information for your family, offering them how you want to be remembered and what about your life was especially meaningful. The class will include real examples of obits that show love, hate, humor, sadness, poetry and pictures. Some might surprise you.

Bio: Susan Soper is a lifelong journalist who has reported and written about murders, school boards, the environment and kidnappings at Newsday in New York before becoming a senior editor at the AJC overseeing 13 feature sections a week. During that time, she spearheaded a series on grief which received an outpouring of reader feedback, sharing and engagement. When her dad died, she created the OBITKIT: Live. Love. Laugh. Cry.
