Course Description

Instructor: Ed Garcia

 

An interactive fun filled class of wise and humorous folktales, parables, and fables from around the world. These wise and clever tales, some of which you might have heard from your parents or grandparents, are timeless, and have meaningful connections to guide us in how to effectively lead our present day lives.

 

Bio:
Edward J. Garcia is a native New Yorker. Much of his early career was in the field of Social Group Work, working in N.Y.C. Settlement House as a social group worker.
He holds both an under graduate work and graduate degree from New York University. His post graduate work was conducted at the Institute for Advanced Study in Rational Emotive Therapy. He worked extensively with Dr. Albert Ellis, one of the nation’s top Cognitive/Behavior psychologists. Upon completion of his four year internship, he was appointed Co-Director of Clinical Training. A position he held for five years until his move to Atlanta, Georgia.
Ed has served on the faculty of the Communications Department of Kennesaw State University, and has conducted clinical in-service training seminars in hospitals and mental health centers. Ed has taught at OLLI since 2004, and now gives workshops at several senior living communities in Atlanta.
