Instructor: Jody Wheeler

It is easy to believe it is not worth the effort to cook for one or maybe two in your household. This course inspired by the book "The Pleasures of Cooking for One" by Judith Jones, will encourage students to find joy in cooking for themselves. Cooks of all levels and experience will enjoy learning and discovering how to embrace the value in making delicious meals at home. Lessons will include understanding the many benefits of cooking, the basic tools needed, second rounds vs. leftovers, food storage techniques and recipe ideas to try.

Bio: Jody Wheeler grew up in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Music Education. She taught elementary music for several years before going back to the classroom herself to study business and accounting. After a move to Kentucky, Jody began her business career with Fiserv, a financial services corporation. The majority of her roles were in the finance and accounting arenas but she spent several years as a corporate trainer as well. Jody was a VP of Shared Services when she retired after 35 years at Fiserv in 2022. Retirement is a new chapter and she is enjoying spending time with her family and grandchildren, traveling and cooking in her home kitchen.
