Course Description

Instructor: Susan Soper

Assignments will include fiction, non-fiction, memoir, interviews, observations turned to stories, letters, post-it notes, and more. Assignments have deadlines and strict word limits so everyone will have a chance to read their pieces each week.

Bio: Susan grew up in Atlanta and attended Oglethorpe University. She started out writing short stories and publishing “newspapersâ€? she handed out to neighbors. Asking questions and recording answers seemed to be her niche. Her career began as a writer for Newsday in Long Island, NY. Susan was also a writer for CNN; Features Editor and Writing Coach for the AJC; Executive Editor for Atlanta INtown; Executive Director of Marketing and Communications at Oglethorpe University; and the founder and author of ObitKit. Inspired by person experiences, ObitKit developed and has become one of the most gratifying things for Susan.
