Course Description

Two of the most iconic Gilbert and Sullivan operettas will be featured this month. We will start with their first big hit, “HMS Pinafore” and proceed to their second most popular show of all time: “The Pirates of Penzance.” We will examine each play over two weeks, one week devoted to Act I and the other to Act II. We will explore the plot, characters, development, production, and of course, music and songs from each operetta. Here’s a great chance for you to sing along in the privacy of your home, or unmute yourself and create a chorus on Zoom!
