Course Description

Instructor: Dan Zins

Based on the Rosenberg case, this brilliant, nuanced and necessary 1971 novel dramatizes the fateful decades after World War II by imagining what happens to two young children when their parents are arrested, tried, and executed for giving “the secret” of the atom bomb to the Soviet Union. We will explore how one of our very best novelists skillfully uses history to presciently address cultural and political issues of profound importance and enduring relevance to our post-9/11 and pandemic world.
